I was born and raised in Springfield and my roots here are deep. My Great Grandfather was the “father” of Lake Springfield and served as Water Commissioner for 32 years. I have spent my entire professional life helping others. I have been a realtor for 10 years and am a full-time real estate professional. I am originally from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, but have been living in Springfield for over 10 years. I entered the world of real estate when my youngest started going to school and am now a full time Realtor. I am devoted to my family and to my job. I believe that being a person first and a Realtor second allows me to be genuine with my clients and always view them as people with dreams and not just another transaction. I work hard to see that those dreams come true. I have 3 children and can relate very well to the educational concerns of parents when purchasing a new home. Since I am not a native of Springfield, I also understand very well the lifestyle adjustments of people relocating to the Springfield area. I was born and raised a Midwesterner in central Illinois. I grew up in the Bloomington/Normal community and graduated from Illinois State University. Over the years I have been actively involved in the community volunteering for organizations such as the Brady for Governor Campaign 2006, YMCA, Strong Kids Campaign, ISU Cheerleader, Cub Scout Leader, and a high school cheer leading coach. I am an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Springfield and recently ran the Chicago Marathon in the Mercy Marathon campaign to raise money for children in Liberia, Africa. I moved to Springfield in 2004 where I reside with my husband and children and am actively involved in the children's school, club, and church activities. I have spent my entire career in customer service and sincerely believe in the value of taking great care of the people I serve. Prior to my real estate career, I was a 23-year veteran of the retail clothing industry, leading in sales, marketing, product management, brand strategy, research and development, assortment, sourcing, design, planning, allocation, and visual research. This focus and understanding of the marketing and preparation of a product has provided me with great understanding and insight into selling homes. After assisting a start up real estate agency in marketing for Three years, I became a licensed Realtor and have been helping both buyers and sellers for the past 2 years in the Springfield market. In January, 2010, I'm pleased to announce that I have joined two respected Realtors, Phil Chiles and Shelley Berndt of the Chiles Team.
